now it seems that everything is a lie?? O_o (the LA stuff? his GF?)
according to this site here Pepita-san (mother of Yuu Shirota best friend of jin) has a radioshow and said in her program that 99,5% of the stuff that is said in TV is a lie!!
"She say thad Jin is getting a bad treatment from JE she says that he is getting a treatment worse than an animal (litteraly translated from portuguese).
she says that JE is a bad industry. that Jin is only doing what was told to him. If Jin tells all he knows this could be the end of JE, but this would mean problems to Jin so the only way was to get away from all.
In the end she told to every fan that Jin is not an irresponsible person, that he loves KAT-TUN and loves to be there, the leaving of KAT-TUN is all a lie (she want that every fan understand that)"
In the same site there's another "version":
"Jin asked Johnny-san for 2 weeks of to go visit his american friend. Johnny-san answered: 'YOU, go and stay for half an year! at least learn something and return well studied' (the answer was not bad but the way he said it was bad).
Jin was guided for not mention for where he was going just to say that there wasn't any girl involved (maybe to not ruin his image when he'll come back)...."
